Specifically the .45ACP. Is it a decock only, or can it be carried Cocked and Locked?

I see there are supposed to be five variations of it, but I can't find a single action.

The reviews I've read state it is DA/SA with decocker, no safety. I've seen SAO versions of the .40 and 9mm pistols advertised online, but my interest extends only to the .45 and only to a SAO. Until then, the FNP will remain, for me, the pistol that could have been.

We're of the same cut. I refuse to carry anything without a thumb safety, and I think the XD Service is UGLY! I do wish the XD45Compact had a thumb safety though...

I just answered my own question. The FNP-45 USG is designed for Conition 1 carry. I found the FN forum, and it's a topic of discussion.

The FNP-45 is DA/SA with an ambidextrous decocker located where the 1911 safety is. Think of it as a SIG but with the decocker in a different location. There is a future model, I think called the FNP-45 USG, that combines the decocker lever with a manual safety, but it's not out yet. I own both an FNP-45 and a Glock 21SF, and the FNP grip circumference is smaller (although its capacity is 14+1 vs 13+1 for the Glock), it is more accurate and more controllable than the Glock, and it comes standard with three magazines. Field stripping is similar to a SIG (meaning you don't have to dry fire it to field strip, like you do with a Glock). Actually, if you think of the FNP-45 as a SIG slide atop a polymer DA/SA frame, you'd be pretty close to the mark. FNH has designed a winner, but it definitely does not have a manual safety, just like SIG.
