Took my S&W to the range yesterday. Can't carry it. Don't want to shoot it indoors withough ears. Love the looks I get from the stalls beside me. The 12 inch fireballs out of the barrel are cool too!
I love mine. Accurate, beautiful, and accurate, and accurate GP100, 6" barrel, stainless. Load her up to make lots of noise and fire, load her down to hit the bullseye. It's my favorite handgun.
Hello friends and neighbors // Yep, a few have followed me home.
Nice looking 686 (I think) , your pic shows the sights well. The sights are one of the reasons my S&W 586, 6" is my favorite revolver hands down.
I remember pre 9mm popularity when most everyone at the handgun range shot .22 or .38/357 , some 44mag and 45 but not much. No one even noticed the noise.
Now with most folks shooting 9mm and more shooting 380s the magnums make quite a statement.
I've only had snub nose wheel guns until I got my hands on a 6-incher, I can't believe how accurate this gun is! The trigger is unlike any other as well.
I have a S&W M19 4" and a Dan Wesson 715 with 2" and 6" barrels, and I love them both. However, I wouldn't want to shoot either one, even outdoors with .38 target load wadcutters, without hearing protection.
I've come around to the .357 after being a big .44 fan. Now I can't imagine not having a K-frame .357. Much more comfortable to carry and shoot for me. On the lookout for something like a 4" Model 28 as well still, or maybe a prelock 4" 686.
My S&W 19, well used before I picked it up. Not the best picture, and I have cleaned it since taking this:
I'm a new .357 owner. Going to hit the range this Tuesday with 110, 125, 140, and some 158 grain ammo and see why the Sp101 likes best. I put a bunch of .37d through it last week. Fun to be shooting a revolver again.
My daily carry side arm is a S&W 66-5 snubby and I absolutely love it! I handload for it with H110 or 296 full house magnum loads with two speed loaders, one has 158 gr. XTP's, the other 125 gr. xTP's, and I have a cylinder full of 158 gr. Gold Dots.
I have two Taurus 66s (3 and 4" barrels) and a 6.5" Ruger blackhawk as well as a Rossi 92 carbine in the caliber and I've owned others, a Smith 19, a Ruger Security Six, and a Ruger 2.25" SP101. The SP101 was the one with the biggest fireball. The 3" Taurus 66 is a carry, lately in a fanny pack. It's quite an accurate revolver and I've always been partial to the caliber as my Security Six was my first center fire handgun. I had a cap and ball '51 Navy before that and a .25ACP, though. .38/.357 is the first handgun I handloaded for and the first cartridge gun I cast for.
