Who makes Keith Bullets?

I reload with cast bullets and I'd like to try Keith style cast bullets instead of the regular SWC that most places sell. I found one place that makes them, but they're really expensive because they're made by hand special for big-game hunting. I'm hoping for more of a mass-produced/bargain kind of thing like most cast bullet companies you see.

Not part of thier on line catalog, but speer makes em, IIRC, 8 bucks or so per 100.

Yeah, that's still $40 for a sack of 500. Bonus Bullets here in Colorado who I usually buy from sells 500 sacks of SWC for $19.50-$22.00. I wonder if there's a reason the Keith style has to cost so much more.

Keith bullets do not lend themselves well to machine casting. Most are hand cast. Dry Creek Bullet Works makes some of the best. LeadHeads is another maker. They are not going to be as cheap as machine cast bullets.

Another recommendation for Dry Creek. If you want Kieths done right and consistent you cast them yourself or pay what they cost.

Kieth bullets ARE better in most guns, the old guy knew a thing or two about shooting.

two best for kieths are Mount Baldy bullets and Dry Creek bullets.

Yeah, Mt. Baldy is where I started. I was looking for "practise bullet" prices. I figured I was saving so much money doing my reloading with cast bullets, I wanted to try the Keith shape while I was at it. I didn't reallize the difficulty of making it took it out of the range of most cast bullet companies. You'd think SOMEBODY would have figured out how to mass produce it by now.

(Specifically looking for .357 Mag bullets right now, but I also would like them for 45 Colt.)

All of my handgun bullets come from Dry Creek...Lynn is a great guy to work with.

Dry Creek also offers machine cast SWC and RNFP bullets that are machine cast and cost a good bit less than his handcast Keith bullets.

Kieth Style Bullets

The cheapest way in the long run is to buy bullet casting tools and cast your own from free tire weights that cost the tire companies to get the scrap yards to take them because lead is considered a hazardous material by the EPA along with solder and any form of lead.

Because of our current wars taking large amounts of lead there is a lead shortage and a 20% price increase from lead wholesalers that will be passed down bullet makers to consumers. I read this on the Bullseye list last month.

One of my acquaintances went out with his pickup and several cases of beer and came home with 800 pounds of tire weights.

It's just a matter of time before I try it, but I can't see casting bullets in my apartment.
If I ever rent or buy a house again that'll be really high on my list of things to do.

We have in the past machine cast a ton or two Keith bullets. The results could have been better. Because of demand for our hand cast Keiths we stopped the machine simply not having time to perfect the product. We now have the machine up and running and once the bullet is what we think it should be we will put it one the market.

I use LaserCast in my .44 mag and 45 LC. About $20/500 at the local shop. Little or no smoke, no leading at 1,000-1,000 fps. They're the same or extremely close to the real Keith style as far as I can tell.
