I keep seeing these with the double under folder for the stock and an attached bayonet and thinking one should find its way into my collection. Is polytech the only ones making them? Are there better options for the folding attached bayonet option? Maybe im searching with the wrong keywords or something but so far I havent really even found any to judge prices on let alone already for sale..

Anyone able to share some wisdom on these? I currently have a half dozen various ak platform rifles at least and have owned I dont even know many through the years and love the platform but an odd duckling to join the other safe queens sounds like a maybe good addition to me.

I'm also looking for one of those. I guess I should have brought home the one I had in RVN.
I don't know if both the chicom semi importers made the double folder or not.
I do know that they are damm near impossible to find and the price has jumped way up. The last one I saw at a gun show around here - probably 3 yrs ago - was around $2K, which is more that ridiculous!!!

Polytech and Norinco haven't imported those into the USA since 1989.

Arsenal, inc makes the SAM7UF. Comes with a bayonet, too.

Polytech and Norinco both offered the fixed spike underfolders in the 1980's, but I've not seen one turn up for sale for some time now.

The double underfolder Chinese aks are some of the rarest and most desirable ones to get.
Seeing one for 2k is not surprising in the least. Saw a primo one sell on GB for 3300 about a year back.

I have one of the Norincos that take a detachable bayonet in my collection having been the original purchaser way back in 1988. Don't shoot it much any more as I like the fixed stock rifles better, but it is a very compact design. Would make an outstanding truck rifle. I remember choosing this one over the attached folding spikes at the time of purchase.

How are these different from the Yugo and Polish AKMS underfolders that have been on the market in recent years?

I think the special forces used them in Afghanistan in 2001 to blend well with the local militias.

$3300 is equal new Arsenal milled side-folder plus four Glock pistols......insane!

Heck a 1969 Mustang BOSS 429 sold for $176,000 on Barrett-Jackson.

You could buy a 2015 Corvette Z06 which will be much faster and have all the modern doo dads and 3 BMW 330i's for that.

It's all about the "you can't get that anymore" factor.

Exactly.

And those that only own the Vette and dont own the classic Stang can never appreciate the difference.

(Plus, Arsenals are kinda over-rated anyway)
