My 12 -inch bladed machete with a plastic handle has a decal on the blade that says the maker was Corneta, in El Salvador. Says to return to vendor if not good.
But it uses the word, hoja, which I thought means "page" in Spanish"?
" Si esta hoja no sale buena". What does "hoja" then mean? Surely the machete or the blade?
The top of the decal/sticker reads "Unico fabricante Imacasa"
On the reverse, the blade is stamped, "Corneta, made in El Salvador, No. 127"
So, does Imacasa own the El Salvador operation of Corneta? The brand seems to be Corneta, with a pic of a stylized coronet. Why is Imacasa also mentioned in the label? I thought that Imacasa and Corneta were two different brands? Is there more than one Corneta company?
Surely, the remarkable Sam Cade or another oracle of machetedom here knows? I hope...
