just realized I don't have a pic of the whole gun...time to break out the camera again

-after sept. I hope to get another ar that might get "ninjafied"

My 20" A3 Bushy is bone stock. I did get a scope for it mostly for load testing, but it sits with the irons on & GI 20's in place.

For the price of tactical overdose on one rifle, a guy could buy 2 or 3 AR's and that would be practactical (practical-tactical)

I don't have tactical overdose on any of my weapons. No need. I've changed some sight & grips here n there. Oh wait, my 10/22 is all EBR'ed out. Black BC folding stock, RL Handguard, flash hider, HK/Williams sights, mag release & 30 rndrs. (I hadda do something before I could afford a real EBR... :D )

Don't know if mine counts as bone stock, but I've got Hogue grips and a scope. OK, very slight Ninja, but I also have A1 sights, so that would negate the Hogues. I also use the standard sling, so that would ALMOST negate the scope, taking me ALMOST back to bone stock. :D

Stock Bushmaster, stock mini 14, stock 10-22, and believe it or not 5 stock 1911s, which I believe is some sort of record.

444, how often do those rails and that light come in handy for hunting? Deer use cover and concealment in your neck of the woods? :neener:

I don't think a scope counts as ninja-ing something out.

Unless you're going to mount a light or a laser (the laser being primarily useful for use with night vision goggles, a requirement few of us have), you don't really need the rail handguards. Seems like they'd just add weight if you were going to put them on just to have them on, or just to add a vertical grip, like some people do. (Isn't there a less bulky way available to attach a vertical foregrip, if one really wanted one?)

Honestly, my favorite M16 variant was always the A1, with the triangular handguards. It had a 20" barrel and was still lighter than most 16" postban carbines.

(I always seemed to get saddled with a Hydra-Matic, though I've seen Colts, including some ancient AR-15 conversions, and even a few H&R rifles. FN makes the A2s and A4s, and probably the A3s. Colt makes the M4 carbines.)

Stock

RRA Car-4 flat top w/ A2 handle. With nothing more than a $40 chinese 3-9 scope. Probably will never change.

XM-15 E2s Bushmaster post ban no mall ninja junk to make it heavier, standard stock for good cheek weld and perfect sight picture with the E2 peep sight.

I like it that way, after 9/13 I may have a flash hider put on mine. Who knows maybe even a bayonette lug too:neener:

No AR-15 but I'd like an SP-1 clone. Growing up with GI Joes it's just what I think an AR-15 should look like :) Obviously, that's not going to be ninjaed out. That's what the M17S is for :D

When I allowed others to confuse me, and my feet to stray from the One True Path- and had an AR-15- it was a bone stock A2.

Nightcrawler, the deer may not use the cover at night much, but the hogs do. :neener:

Mine was not mall ninjaed until last friday. I love stock ars, but also love the tricked out ones too. I figure as long as everything has a purpose, its all good. Mine started out as a stock bushmaster 16" a3 with carry handle. Ive since changed the grip to a ergo, added a vertical grip, g2 flashlight, arms 40 buis and eotech. While I only have one ar, i decided it will be tricked out. My wish list of ars is topped by two models. A carbon 15 which will get ghost rings and thats it, and a stock 20 inch a2 which will be left stock, and let me practice with irons easier, and be used to introduce new shooters to the ar. I shot m16s with out any gadgets for 7 years, and just now feel comfortable enough to try optics out. Heres my ar in its stock form:

lol, when i first looked at that pic I thought it was one of those hunting pics with the gun next to the animal then I was like why would he kill a dog, maybe it was a stray? lol :D

So which have you found to be more effective on dogs, the high power or the AR? :D

Six AR's here - 1 ninjafied pre-ban, 3 DCMed (1 is a colt HBAR preban), 1 shorty hbar post ban stock, 1 full size colt NIB pre-ban target model.

I've sold all of my ARs. But they were all bone stock, including the one I built myself. :)

I don't get offended by "ninjafied" guns. I figure there are two types of shooters with gizmos on their guns.

Type A: Has gizmos on the gun because in their experience the gizmos help them shoot better/faster. This person practices with their gizmos and can shoot good.

Type B: Buys gizmos to try to buy skill. Usually can't shoot good, but has lots of crap hanging on their gun.

A is great. B bugs me. :) Just don't fall into the trap that some people on this forum seem to. Just because you see somebody with lots of stuff hanging off of their weapon, don't assume that they are Type B. There have been pictures of special ops guys and contractors working in Iraq and Afghanistan with "ninjafied" guns. Immediatly some poster here will make a crack about them being Mall Ninjas. ***? Look up what a mall ninja is and please explain to me how exactly a guy who gets shot at for a living, and who kills angry fundamentalists on a daily basis is a mall ninja.

I think that some of us go under the immediate assumption that gizmos=poor shooter. Don't make that mistake my friends. :)

Of the four I have, only my Armalite match rifle isn't "stock" A2 configuration. The match rifle is still a "service" match rifle so it only has the modifications (free floating barrel, etc.) that are CMP legal.
