Welcome to the forum.
The Berry's hollow points don't expand at normal velocities. To drive them fast enough to expand would require driving them beyond their velocity limits, and they will tumble.
They were made because people asked for them. They are usually a little more accurate and they do cut a better hole in paper, but not like a wadcutter.
I use them in 357 Sig and 10mm loadings. I can't tell much difference in accuracy from my 10mm auto pistols, but I can certainly tell the difference in my S&W Model 610 revolver. They are very accurate through it.
For the 357 Sig, which requires a flatnose bullet, they work well, having enough shank to provide good neck tension and good accuracy. They feed well through my Springfield XD in 357 Sig, too.
Hope this helps.
