We had a roller coaster at a local theme park, Silverwood, called the Grizzly (or something to that effect) and a few years after they made it they changed it to Timber Terror (freaking stupid name). It turns out that the original name was the same as an ammunition made by Remington and they sued SW. Kind of dumb as I doubt anyone would see a roller coaster and think ammunition.
When I think of the Savage Edge I do not think of a high end stock like a McMillan. They should have done the research first but no one would look at a base Savage and think of McMillan.
They should have went ahead and changed the stock when they changed the name. I have one and was able to get some very good groups printed after much breaking in and load development. But you have to be REAL careful how you rest the stock. It is just to flimsy. It'll be getting an aftermarket Hogue, Boyds or Carbon Lite once they are available.
Even without copyright infringement, I'm glad they changed it. No self respecting rifle ought to have the association to a Ford Soccer Mom Car (Ford Edge).
I may end up oweing some appologies here, as I don't know a thing about the Ford motor vehicle. It may be a wonderful vehicle, but it's not my prefered style of vehicle. Just sayin.
