This is exactly why we should not immediately let the government jump on the gun control wagon. History has proven that those who seek power over the citizens are dangerous and should be carefully "watched"(or kept in check/voted against or whatever term you find fitting).

Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English)

-Classified guns for "sporting purposes".

-All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.

- Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law.

- Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.

- The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.

- Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.

I expect it to be deleted by the Pro-BHO adminitrators.

Sorry if it was already posted. I did not see it.

It is a good topic to discuss, I try to post along the guide lines of the forums. So I think is is definable a discussion we can keep strictly RTKBA.

If it is not, I would love to give my apologies and would be interested in any views as to why it is not.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. >From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!

SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.

SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

IT'S A NO BRAINER!

You're not imagining it, history shows that governments always manipulate tragedies to attempt to disarm the people~

Motodeficient,
Great post. Can you provide a source for your stats please?

It’s very sad, but in the coming weeks you’re not likely to hear the reason for the 2A stated in any of the TV debates, not even from the ‘pro 2a’ side. We’ll let the other side paint the premise of the argument based on hunting, target shooting, collectors, self defense; anything BUT the true reason the founders recognized our right to defend ourselves. The real enemy the founders believed we may someday need to defend ourselves from will not be mentioned and if someone were to do so, they would be labeled a nut.

In other countries, citizens have guns, and they are rebelling against a genocidal government, and the US even sometimes supports their cause. They are not being rounded up and exterminated.

The problem with using this is that German gun control is not that simple and the oft-mentioned "factoids" in cheveyman097's post don't accurately reflect the scope of German firearm laws between WWI and the beginning of WWII.

Make sure to read Kabal's posts. They are well worth the time to understand how much of this is taken out of context. For example, it was true the age was changed to 18 for purchasing. However, it was actually lowered from the previous law.

Says who? main stream media?

Good thread. Sorry I missed that one.

Well okay they are being rounded up, but at least the civilians can fight back. And those that have guns that the government tries to round up will at least take down some of the genocidal monkey fluffers before they're exterminated.

In the case of WW2, we had to step in to stop the problem, although arguably I think what really did the Germans in was Hitler stupidly turning on his ally and creating a second front. In the case of China, they still have human rights violations (although should I really say bad things about our landlord?). In the case of some of the other countries, well, we are just helping the rebels, not fighting the war for them.
