Why I wont buy a Kel-Tec product

Kel-Tec has had one of the best CS departments going and probably still does from what I read. They treated me great back when a short run of P-32s had trigger axis problems due to a defective part.

Like the man said, buy the gun if you like it, not the story.

Sorry bud, but if you send such a brief and nonspecific email as when will (x) be for sale in (vague x) you are likely to receive a brief response.. nature of the beast there.

if you introduce yourself, state your interest and then ask about general availability, things change.. how is a customer rep to know when a gun will be available in YOUR area? last I checked the guns are released when they are released and a local shop or wholesaler would be the one to request such information as when they will be available in your area. Do you call Universal Studios to find out when a movie will be sold in your area? Call ford to find out when washington will have some of the new F-150's?

BTW... saying you "could care less at this point" implys that you do, in fact, care...:neener:

The gun market, for some time now, has been a sellers market. Most manufacturers have been over run with customers, since the Obama Administration's stupid comments about guns and gun control. I think they're suffering from shell shock (pun intended).

Kel Tec makes a fine product and they generally have great service. I think you are over reacting. Just get over it and buy the gun or you might end up with a Hi Point carbine :what:. :)

I think someone needs a nap.:neener:
Come on man, I think your going a little overboard.
I do agree with everything you state in your post, I positively feel the same way about customer service.
Just remember what my great friend (and BETHEL,OK city councilman!!!) J.T. says -
" Never take a NO answer from someone who cannot tell you yes"
great advice for this situation.

It seems to me like an appropriate response. A little less formal than you would expect, but your email wasn't really formal either, and if they make a good gun, then they make a good gun.

What makes your state so special that it would be different than anywhere else? And how should they know when the supply chain manager of Disk's S;porting goods or whatever does his job?

Sweet. Let us know what you decide to get instead (post pics!). For the money you saved up for that Kel-Tec rifle, you should be able to get something good.

Seems like the thread has resolved itself.

I WILL!! I am doing so hard looking, I might wait till after SHOT this year and see if something will tickle my fancy!!! (just not from keltec)

Yeah I feel you.

One time McDonalds left cheese off my cheeseburger..... Haven't been back.

The girl that delivered my Fried Chicken Salad at Logans during lunch didn't smile.....
I'm thinking about writing a scathing letter.

You're not gonna believe this... But I went to Bass Pro shop last weekend and they where out of 30-30 Leverolution...

I'm planning my revenge as we speak.

dude....seriously? now Kel Tec is a turd of a company? you seriously have to do some more research before making a statement like that... you asked a vague question to the wrong person and have you own "unprofessional" format to blame for your "unprofessional" answer. You dont want the Kel Tec, cool, that is your opinion and choice to make, but to then put down one of the best companies in the business when it comes to products, innovation, warranties, and customer service... not to mention price... well I guess your email format isnt all that is lacking.

If Kel Tec is all that bad for a short answer to a silly question I guess yall have something in common, though I dont think I would go so far as to insult them by saying such a thing.

I don't blame you at all - that's a horrible, weak response. Hey, get a 5.56 bullpup, an AR10 style, or Robinson XCR instead - all those actually exist!

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Kel Tec Customer Service. I think the reply, although short, was all the information that was needed. On two occasions I needed something for my P-11. Frame pins since I lost mine while using a belt clip, and magazine plates, that I lost while using a finger extension. One e-mail to Kel Tec and the items I needed were in the mail, FREE. If you own firearms from them I'd say stick with them.

I have emailed about 20-30 firearms manufacturers over the past 2 years,
I haven't contacted, or needed to contact firearms manufactures that many times in over 50 years of shooting & gun collecting!!

Geeze!

Maybe you are spending so much time emailing manufactures you're just getting short tempered!
