How come we can't order just the one thing we go onto Midway or Grafs (or whoever's) site for?

I went looking for .323" 200 gr. Accubonds on Midway. They didn't have those, but I still managed to spend $300. Arghh!

Is it just me, or do others feel compelled to order pretty much all we can afford in reloading components and equipment? I think I've dropped over 2 grand in the last 3 months on brass, bullets primers and powder. I've really gotta curb this thing. lol.

I do the same thing which is why I try to stay off their website as much as I can. Luckily for my wallet I am no longer home for much of the year although I still get into buying sprees. I HATE Midway for spending so much of my money!

I know you said that as a joke but it really is a problem. You should give yourself a few days or a week to think things over & reason if you really should buy something.

Nothing wrong with buying things you want but if you ponder on it a few days then reason would stop you from spending so much.

I normally think things over for quite awhile and do a lot of research before I buy -- that's why Midway has a wishlist. Once I get it in my head though it's pretty much a done deal except the price. I managed to cut down my "Stuff To Buy" list over the last few weeks which is very unusual for me.

We buy multiple items when we shop online because we figure we're eventually going to buy the items anyway, and we know that by merging the items into a single order we can spread shipping costs over the multiple items.

That's why, as others have stated, using the wish list or buy later functions is such a good idea.

They have counseling for this sort of thing, but none of us will go. You know, cause we don't have a problem. Right? :)

It's actual not impulse buying. These things have been on my list. I've really never had an impulse buying problem; I just have a long wants/needs list :)

I didn't do this so much 10 years ago, when I knew the item would still be in stock on the shelf at the same price 6 months from now. The problem is, that's just not the case these days, and especially not right now.

It really is pretty much what beetledog said. I'm going to get it eventually, it saves on shipping to make larger orders, I can afford it now and the stuff isn't going to get any cheaper (most likely more expensive in the very near future).

I wasn't in as bad a spot as many last election, but I still didn't get to do much loading for about a year and a half. I wasn't going to be the guy who happily paid $80 for the only brick of primers on the shelf. This time around, I'll rest easier knowing that I'm much more immune from shortages and price gouging.

Tell me about it ... just picked up a Storm Lake .40 cal barrel for the Glock since I don't trust the one that survived the KaBoom ... along with 22 different types of .22LR cartridges for testing. Damn near spent $300 ... happens about once a month ... I need to sell a car!

It is differnt to buy in bulk whether bulk items or even just bulk ordering everything at one time. It makes sence to get it all in one trip instead of running to town 3 times in one week or one shipping charge. I order most of my items just because it is cheaper then useing the gas & I don't lose my whole day. I try to order as much as I can see me useing without wasting.

I have allready been seeing price gouging. I wanted to stock up on a few more things myself but seems I waited to long. I'll do without before I pay the gouging price.

Its that wish list! I cant just order one $12 item since I got to pay shipping...might as well order more stuff with it to make the shipping worth it...yeah thats my excuse! Powder valley is even worse for me....I got to make the hazmat fee worth it so I make sure to get plenty of extra.

I had to hit the brakes myself as I was ordering WAY too much stuff that was really unnecessary. Back to a budget with line items for reloading components.

Same reason you go to the store for a gallon of milk and come back with $50.00 of snacks and beer. IT'S ON SALE!!!!

If you buy over $200 or $300 you get to use the discount code for $25 or $35 off. That's my excuse anyway.

And I can stop anytime I want to.

I just don't want to. Well, maybe I should slow down a bit. The morning hangovers are getting tougher the older I get.

But not now . . . next week.

In recent weeks, I have noticed two items, bought last year and 2010 for half the current price. This was at Cabelas.

I have been very bad this month. I am going to have to behave for a while...........soon. :)

Yeah, I know the feeling, decided to buy a couple of boxes of 115 gr.,.257 Nosler Partition blems. Then I started thinking about it and decided I'd save more money ($12.00 flat rate shipping!) if I got a couple more things to sorta spread the shipping costs out. Before I was done I'd spent 280 bucks!
Just in case you're still looking for .323 bullets, they have Nosler 180 gr. E-Tip blems for ONLY $17.95/50...

I work the graveyard shift so on occasion i'm up till around 4:30 am on my days off. I find it way too easy after having a few(ok maybe more than a few) beers to order way too much from midway at 4 in the morning! The wife does'nt take to kindly when that happens!

Just did it myself. Went on to buy a box of Sierra Gamekings for the wife's .243 and ended up with a new Midway Competition range bag and a new pair of muffs to go along with the 200 bullets. :banghead:

Oh well, I NEEDED a range bag I suppose.
