I recently got a new RRA AR15.
I've shot about 150 rounds through it last night.
The barrel looks as clean as it did before the gun was ever fired???

I don't understand. I shoot the same brand ammo in my handguns and they are filthy dirty. AR barrel is super clean.

What's up?

As mentioned, it may look clean, but run a patch through it and then let us know what you see on the patch.

Just because ammo is manufactured by the same company does not mean it is the same. You handgun ammo uses different powders than your rifle ammo.

It's not really clean. There is fouling along the rifling grooves. Run a couple patches and you'll see.

BTW, most RRA AR's don't have chrome bores. I think that's a special request only item and only on certain barrel types.

I had a similar experience just last week.

60 rounds down range and back in the safe.

two days later I get around to cleaning it and the bore looks bright and shiny.

Hmmm?

A good soaking and ~8 patch pulls later and it really was clean.

Clean?

Break down the BCG and have a look at the bolt gas rings...
