Why load 9mm ammo?

Nice to have a pile of components when you cannot find any ammo to be bought for any price. Have not been effected any of the shortages for over 40 years. There will be a time coming when the shortage will permanent !

We went to a lodge for a weekend getaway with 8 couples, there were a few that came up to the pistol range, one couple had 1 box of ammo and said that was all they could find, when she looked at my wifes purple 50cal can full of 9mm she told my wife she was fortunate to have that much ammo and she had a big smile when I let her shoot some. I still have 9mm lead that are marked $50 a 1000, and some jacketed hp marked $30 for 500, the last primers I used were LPM for the 44mag marked 12.50 and i have some that are marked cheaper.
I reload 9mm so I can have some and to save money, I don't reload them often since we only have 1 9mm but when I do I usually make a run of 500. I load more 38, 357, 40, 44mag and 45 than 9mm but I like the idea of having enough on hand.

Right now I have about 3,500 rounds of 9mm made up and enough components to make 3k more. Most of that was made up when 9mm was still readily available and cheap, I only made it because I enjoy the reloading hobby.

Now that it's unobtainable unless you have deep pockets I feel like a genius!
