Was thinking about my 10mm's and thought a 9x25 Mauser type cartridge in a Glock 20/40 would be pretty sweet balance. No doubt 9x25 Dillon was low hanging fruit as one can just use standard magazines and just need a barrel change and 357 Sig is hitting ~1,400fps with 125gr, whereas theoretically by the QL calcs the theoretical 9x25 Paraboomer would hist 1,600fps with 125gr. The cartridge lengths are comparable to the 10mm, so it seems it would fit peoples hands that are used to 10mm web to trigger lengths.
Obviously, 9x25 Mauser is a high pressure round at 51,500psi (??), I'm not feeling that energetic about an auto loader with that type of pressure, but what I'm speaking to is cartridge dimensions with a comparable pressure to 9mm Parabellum and 10mm Auto at 35k-38k psi.
I would figure one could fit close to 20+ rounds in a stack and a half G20 sized magazine.
QUESTION: Why do you all think this hasn't been designed by a wildcatter?
Talk about fun in a G40MOS, rolling jackrabbits, coyotes, feral pigs, etc, with a flat shooting, fast to target round like that.
QuickLOAD Calculations
Theoretical 9x25 "Paraboomer"
0.357" 158gr Hornady XTP
6.9gr Alliant Power Pistol
Muzzle Velocity = 1,300fps
Energy = 800 ft./lbs.
Pressure = 38,224psi
0.357" 125gr Sierra JSP
9.0gr Alliant Power Pistol
Muzzle Velocity = 1,600fps
Energy 685 ft./lbs
Pressure = 38,654psi
