Why no S&W 454 Casull revolvers?

I agree. My 5" model handles the Hornady 200 gr loads really nicely. 325's aren't even too bad but definitely snap a little harder.

The 7.5-inch Super Red isn't all that bad, I can shoot it one-handed.
Did the same with the Smith .460 snub Bear Kit when that first came out.

Not saying I can HIT anything with either one-handed, but neither is all that hard to hang onto. :)

Thanks Craig. Max got the very first one which does not surprise me in the least. He's quite the big bore guy and I have his book. We'll see if more show up soon.

Since S&W had to create a different frame size to accommodate a .454 cartridge, it only makes sense that they would create one that takes their proprietary cartridge such as the .500 S&W mag and the .460 S&W mag. The fact that their .460 X-Frame also accommodates the .454 and .45 Colt is an added bonus to those that don't reload. For us that do reload it is really a moot point. Isn't really that much difference between the .454 and the .460, but IMHO, the former is much more pleasant to shoot outta a X-Frame than the SRHs. Because of this, the X-Frame has renewed interest in the .454 chambering. Especially for those that like to shoot them a lot.
