Why no short (18-20"), choked barrels?

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's a 'Junior' model in 20 ga.

The 'house guns' here are about the same size, but in 12 ga.- 12.5" LOP stocks and 18- 18.5" barrels. OAL is about 37" on them, don't know what they weigh as I don't have a scale sensitive enough to weigh them.

Oh, I found another turkey out there. The Mossberg 500 Grand Slam Turkey Series. It comes with an X-Factor Ported Tube, which I think means it is ready for other choke tubes as well. 20". Also has front and rear sights ... sounds versatile.

(This suggestion comes with the caveat that the gun looks sort of like, if you were to plant it in some nice topsoil and water it now and again, it would turn into a jungle.)
