Think for a minute about what a polymer frame would do to the beautiful balance of the 1911. If someone wants/needs an extremely top heavy gun there plenty of Glocks on the market. I much prefer the recoil absorption of an all steel 1911. Constructing a 1911 out of polymer would be an insult to John Browning.
Not really, think of all the polymer guns already in existence. There has never been credible documented evidence of this happening. As the bullets are fired out of any gun, steel, polymer, alloy guns all change in weight so it it isn't polymer-specific.
