Why say the bad guys were "gunned down?"

Overall, this is a fairly balanced article, but the opening line implies that three people were wantonly massacred. The rest of the article does a reasonable job of explaining how a hero storeowner saved his wife from three thugs who had led her to the back of the store and were preparing to tie her up.

Ah yes, good ol' Channel 11. One of our other local station's headline read, "Store owner kills three suspects. Police are calling the jewelry store owner a hero..." The third says, "Store owner kills three robbers."

Of course, the bad guys were gunned down. As they richly deserved to be. Watch this case go right to the grand jury without charges. Or the precinct jp may simply rule it a justifiable homicide and end the whole thing right there.

And, no, the families of the would-be robbers don't get to sue.

How about euthanize? Or succumbed to stupidity? I like died of lead poisoning. What ever they call it .... it's glorious day when criminals die from justice dispensed by the victim. The best part is they were locked in the store and the owner made sure they left in a body bag..... hallelujah.... Merry Christmas.
