The following is an email exchange between a person who is on the WCCA's email alert list, and Executive Director. I'll add my comments following the exchange:

Can you explain this?
You say that you are a no comprimise gun organization, yet WCCA says that you are going after Dave Zein? I seriously doubt that you endorse Pat Kreitlow, Zein's opponent, especially since his own website reads:
"They seek to scare people into thinking the streets of Wisconsin have become a high crime "wild west" rather than one of the safest places in the United States thanks to our law enforcement officers. Simply put, our legislators have more important things to do than weaken a concealed weapons law that has kept Wisconsin safe for more than 130 years."
While I am all for no compromise on gun issues, when practical, why would you attack someone who is as close as we can get at this time, who is willing to serve?
Why are you not attacking those members of the legislature that voted for the admendments, then cowardly voted to uphold the veto? I saw nothing on your website attacking Terry Van Akkeren and John Steinbrink.
You ask for the support of gun owners, yet you have done nothing to show why?
Now I ask you why should I, and all my shooting and hunting buddies, support your organization?

Dear Brian,
Because IF you don't support us, by the time our children are of voting age, the Republicans will have strapped gun owners with an additional 20,000+ gun control laws - and moved further to the left.
And gun control sympathizers like WCCA will be long gone, perfectly content to carry with their "permit" (which reduces an inalienable right to a State-granted privileged).
May I kindly suggest that it seems as if maybe - just perhaps - you may be operating on a number of common false assumptions regarding the political dynamic. You won't hear the full story from the neo-conservatives, so why don't you and your hunting buddies join up at WGO for just one year and get the real story on your gun rights?
If you don't agree that our strategy and gritty-tough approach to representing grassroots gun owners is THE solution to incrementally giving the anti-gun liberals heartburn, then you don't have to renew.
Right now, you have much to learn.

I would be willing to join, but you have yet to answer any of my questions. Can you answer these questions and rebut the WCCA email, or is Dick Baker correct?
Your fear mongering speculations and evasiveness in your response as well as your rhetoric in your website gives me little hope that your group can do anything more than WCCA.
All I know is that without at least Republican support, none of us will ever have the legal right or privilege to carry a concealed weapon, and your group is undermining that effort by attacking Republicans.
I am also offended that you question my knowledge of this issue or the political workings of it in any way shape or form. Your arrogance will not gain you membership.
There are those of us who take the chance everyday of carrying a concealed weapon illegally. We are the ones that will need protection should the day come that we are to defend ourselves, our families or our property. Are you prepared to deny us any protection at all because you are unwilling to be somewhat reasonable?

Just where is ED getting the "full story" from? He's so far outside of the Madison inside that he knows nothing about what's going on.
