Well I made my wife take the Beginner hand gun class at our local range last night because I own guns and shoot guns and carry a gun. She didnt like guns when we met 14 years ago but she got used to them and even has gone shooting with me a few times.

Well at the start of her class she told me everyone stood up to introduce them self and tell why they are their and she was honest and said her name and said she was only their to humor her husband. Which was the real reason why she went. She figured it was only a 4 hour class and she could humor me.

I showed up at the end of the class when they went to do the shooting portion. I happen to be wearing my SW1911SC commander at the time and she asked if she could use my gun rather then a range gun like everyone else and I said sure. So unloaded the Federal Hydro-shocks and gave her the gun. Everyone else was using range guns from 9MM - 45cal They got to shoot about 30 rounds each at about 5 yards. I have to admit my wife by far was the best shot of the 12 people in the class. She ended up haveing one big hole just about an inch low of bullseye and about 5 stray shots about an inch lower and left of that.

After the 4 hour class that she took just to humor me she came out and said she was going to take the Intermediate class next then the TN state permit class then me and her where going to take the Street level 1 class together. AND she wanted he own gun now too.

Ha Ha, you didn't make her do anything. You fell right into her trap, silly man. Next time she ask you to take out the trash you shall obey.:neener: It's cool she shows an interest common to yours. I'm working on that with mine. One more for the right!

My wife recently took a beginner safety class at Firearms Academy of Seattle. In fact, pax was probably there as one of the instructors. :)

Unfortunately, my wife didn't like it as much as I'd hoped, but hey, at least she went and learned some safety rules.

That's okay though, because I got to take the Tactical Handgun class on the same day! I know I had a good time!

My fiancee was not comfortable when I bought a pistol last year. Then I took her to the range... she wasn't comfortable with the recoil from my pistol (9mm Taurus 24/7 Pro) but she really liked shooting a .22 rifle. So I picked up a 10/22, and now we go to the range together. :D
