I have an ar 15 with an ACOG scope. I wanted to mount a front sight gas block on the end of my rifle however I was wondering if this would obstruct the sight from my scope. Does anyone know if this tends to happen?
it Shouldnt......i mean ive mounted a scope behind some large globe sights before and never had a problem, the scope tends to just focus right past it (kinda like looking through a chain-link fence from up close).
I have a fixed FSB and a 4x ACOG on my AR, and I can make out a slight shadow from the FSB. The shadow is more apparent when focusing on targets at closer range. When shooting 100 yards+, it really isn't that noticeable at all.
You will not notice the front sight since you will be focusing on the chevron/cross hairs of the scope. I have a TA31F on an M4'gery with a fixed front sight, and I don't notice the front sight. The same for the other M4'gery with an Aimpoint ML2.
