will a speedloader for a GP100 work for a Security Six?

I have a HKS model 586-A speedloader that is supposed to work for the GP-100, and I have a Security Six. Will this speedloader work? In other words, I would like to know before I tear open the blister pack and cannot return it.

I suspect it may be a bit large... The 586-A works with the S&W L-frames, but is a bit large for the K-frames. The GP100 is akin in size to the L-frames, whereas the Security-Six is closer to the K-frame. I'd check this one out a bit further before opening the package.

Ahhh - so that means that I should get a holster sized for a K-frame rather than the GP-100. Triple-K doesn't specify the Security Six in their holster catalogs (I have a hankerin for an old-style leather flap holster).

I have both a GP-100 & a Security-Six; they require different HKS speedloaders.

I think the Security-Six takes a 'MK3-A'. I'd have to go look, but they ARE different. edited to add: yep, look below.

I also use the one for the k frame(10) for my Speed 6....it doesn't work w/ wad cutters,but anything that has a "point" to it it will...I had a real hard time finding a holster(lefty) for my spped 6....a kframe holster is preferable,but i ended up getting 686 sized holster w/ a thumb break...the gun flops around a little,but the thumb break keeps it in there...4" k frame holsters for lefties are rare I guess....
