Will adding steel pins and/or steel shot to tumbler media work?

Just saw a couple videos on how cases cleaned in with steel pins in a cleaning solution in a Thumler Model B tumbler come out like new. Any way to get a similar effect by adding pins or shot to media in a vibe tumbler? Or would they just settle at the bottom - what if you only used pins/shot?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that steel pins or shot mixed in with regular media like crushed walnut would simply not work as it would all settle to the bottom. Besides, why bother?

A buddy of mine loaned me his Thumbler's Ultra-Vibe 10 recently. With regular crushed walnut media, and a dollop of Mother's Mag Wheel polish (or any good brass polish), the cases I tumbled came out looking brand spanking new.

Loved it so much that I ordered one for myself!

Give it a try and let us know. Perhaps the corncob media will move the pins around enough to help a little. I wouldn't bet any hard earned cash on it though, and it still won't clean the primer pockets or the inside of the cases, I bet.
