If so, is there anywhere I can find OEM slides/barrels for sale?

I realize you can buy .40/9mm conversion barrels. I'm wondering if I can just swap slides/barrels with someone who has a 19 and wants to convert to .40.

I tried several searches; forgive me if this has been covered.

thanksa

You could swap slide assemblies and magazines with someone with a model 19 but you would need to change the ejector as well...why not just trade pistols??? I don't know where you could buy a factory slide assembly in the aftermarket...just have to look around...you might could get Glock to convert your pistol for you but they would want it to be permanent and not switched back and forth due to liability....

But, say if you just had a frame that the upper had gotten lost and you preferred to have a 9mm then they might convert it for you....probably not, but maybe...just have to call and ask....

IF you had two different slide assemblies then I would also recommend getting another "trigger mechanism housing" that houses the ejector for ease of swapping....heck get a whole other trigger bar assembly with it and just pop one out and the other in...

All in all, I recommend that you just trade pistols! ;)

Not true. The .40 ejector will work with the 9mm and the 9mm will work with the .40.

It would be a LOT easier and less expensive to get a caliber conversion barrel from Storm Lake or Lone Wolf. For $100 and a 9mm mag, you're in business.

Glockmeister used to sell slides, but they don't anymore. I believe Caspian is making them now, but you'll have more in it than a new gun by the time you're done.

Well, the ejector might work with it, but the 9mm and the .40 ejectors are different....using a .40 ejector on 9mm casings would be a safer bet than the other way around due to how close they would come to the primer....but proper ejection might still be compromised. If you were going to depend on this pistol for protection after changing slide assemblies I recommend a proper ejector (trigger mechanism housing) for the caliber, even if just using an aftermarket barrel, since the cost is only a few dollars....if it's just for the range, then do whatever you're comfortable with.

'I note that the lone wolf conversion barrel is about 60-80 bucks less than the KKM or other mfgs... any reason for that? Does lone wolf have a good rep for quality?

I would like to know this too please

Very interested if anyone else has any info on this. I have a G23cc and want to get a conversion barrel so I can shoot 9mm. Going to the State Fair Gun Show in MN at end of March.
Info about LoneWolf Dist (LWD) and/or Storm Lake, both at $99.

Thanks

Been very happy with the two KKM Glock barrels I own, quality was excellent. Another brand I tried before going to KKM Glock barrel, was not so thrilled with. I will just leave it at that.

you have to go conversion barrel not a standard barrel.

the after market barrel that i have experience with is storm lake, accuracy and reliability is the same as the factory, it is just used to shoot lead reloads through.
