Will Sig make the GSR 1911 without that vulgar rail on the frame?

They will if they want to sell one to me, and I'm a big SIG fan.:)
I just won't buy a 1911 that won't fit into the expensive 1911 holsters I already own and like.
Unless they a produce a Commander size gun with no rail I may well pass on this one.

I hope so. Like many others, I would buy a GSR if it had the traditional 1911A1 profile (no accessory rail).

People want gimmicks ,accessory rail, beavertail etc .That's not for me. Certainly a carry gun or a HD gun should not have any modification that is not necessary.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way about the Sig-assembled Caspian.

Personally I think the rail is an eyesore. I decided that this year I would buy a 1911. As big SIG fan, I guess I'll look elsewhere until they get rid of that hideous rail.

Even without a rail will it fit a 1911 holster? The slide is not a traditional 1911 slide. I am not sure it would fit a standard 1911 holster even without the rail. I will have to agree though that BUTT UGLY comes to mind when I look at the pics of them.

Personally the rail doesn't make a difference to me. I won't be purchasing a GSR in .45, but if the 9mm version is trouble free I'll be on that Sig-assembled Caspian like white on rice.

Last month I met the regional SIG rep while at my 'adult daycare center' and quizzed him about this very subject. He said there will be 3 additional variations on the GSR this year, along with numerous other new/improved products shortly.

Absolutely nothing in 10mm, ever, though. His words.

Regards,
Rabbit.

I'm somewhat attracted to the GSR as a house gun -- put a light on the rail. I doubt it would fit in most of my 1911 holsters...
