Maybe it's just me.

Why would you need a bushing tool for a full size 1911?
Why is a demonstration of how the tool works not in the video?
Why would anyone store this thing in the magwell?
Why is that guy picking up a (presumably) loaded weapon and not clearing it?
Why is his finger on the trigger????
Why, why, why?
:barf:

I had a Series 80 Colt Govt. Model and you simply could NOT get the bushing off without a bushing wrench. Can't get it off of my 10mm Officer's Model without one either.

My para was like that, it just gives you the torque to turn the bushing

Pistols intended primarily for target work have bushings that are tight, both in the bushing to slide fit and in the barrel to bushing fit. For the first case, a tool is often needed to remove the tight bushing.

I expect the tool's use was not covered because 1) it is obvious, and 2) it was assumed that anyone watching that video would know what it was and how to use it.

I don't know why anyone would store it in the mag well except to show that the pistol does not have a magazine in it.

Wow! That's a seriously poor display of gun handling! They should really reshoot that film and show him checking that the gun is clear, keeping his finger off the trigger, and NOT sweeping himself and the camera. I like how he picks up a cocked pistol, and then sticks the finger of his off hand right over the muzzle while his trigger finger is inside the trigger guard and on the trigger! At one point he also points the gun almost directly into the camera! A show of (un)skill like this makes me doubt the credability of anything the guy is trying to sell.

I've never actually needed one, but I got one anyway. I was first amazed to see his finger repeatedly on the trigger. Sheesh. My 1911 videos are much better.

...

Can't say that I was impressed..

Kinda sounded like he tripped and fell down at the end..

Plastic and stores in the butt of the gun.. :scrutiny:

Should be on Leno (Tonight) show segment: will it sell, Yes.. No.. ?

I didn't need a bushing wrench for my Colt Series 80 until I installed a Wilson barrel and bushing. Now I have two bushing wrenches. One in the cleaning kit and one in the gun case.

As far as the bushing wrench on a 1911 --install a National Match bushing and you'll find the answer the next time you try to remove it.

As far as one that fits in place of the Mag you got me on that one. I really can't think of a worse place!

I stand corrected on the need for it I suppose. Of course, this also means that I won't soon be changing any of the bushings on any of my 1911s anytime soon as they are all easily removed without the tool. The pistols all fire well and accurately and that's fine for me. The video, however, was still beyond stupid....:D

That was the sound of him shooting himself in the foot with his other 1911.

He later posted the pic...
