I wonder if the "new" 1858 Remington will make its debut in the next few days? If so, will details be forthcoming on its proposed price and availability? I have a bad feeling that this model may be too expensive for my budget, but time will tell.

The latest rumor is that the '75 will be $1,900; at that price I don't think they will get too many takers. I have money put aside for one but will pass if the rumor proves to be true.

Well, I certainly don't think it will be $1900.00. They are in business to sell guns to the general blackpowder market. They know most people can't (or won't) pony up that much money.
With all the trouble they went to getting the tools and dies and the line set up, they'vd got to sell guns, and at $1900.00 a whack and as small as the blackpowder market is, they wouldn't be producing them very long, you can believe that.
I myself think they will be very reasonably priced and within the reach of everyone to the best of the company's ability.
I think ya'll will be surprised....

At that price it would be a safe queen for a serious collector ..I more think they are makeing these Remmies for the shooting crowd , and alot of us buy in pairs ...You could buy a nice original for that price . Maybe at the shot show ..they`ll show us the price ..too many rumors right now .

Excluding the cost of development and tooling - much of which they could write off of their taxes - the cost of manufacturing the revolver should be in the same ballpark as that of a Single Action Army with an equal finish. Now you can do your own math, but keep in mind that they will likely be making it in smaller numbers, and I would expect them to come with "best quality" finishes.
