Later that night, After shooting with an AR-7, a guy that was holding James Spader hostage.
"It feels good to shoot a bad guy"Shatner
"oh does it"Spader
"It's something you Democrats wouldn't understand"Shatner
:p

Shatner is the man in that show cause he's always basically making fun of himself, tonights episode was classic. Love it after he shot the guy he walks in and just kinda utters "Denny Crane......" I was rolling on the floor, lol...

Loved it when debating with the two chicks about shooting the gunman, when he stated that he was a marine: "I was a trained sniper... or was it a pilot? oh well..." Crazy bastard, lol.

He also said something about being a Republican to the tune of "we want our homes to be safe, we want to keep the money we earn, and we want to shoot badguys..."

Yeah what he said after was good too, but the short sentences shown in my original post......That's about all the capacity my memory has :uhoh:

I was flipping channels and caught him talking to these fine young ladies. Wanted to see what was going on... Pull - Hahhaha

Wasn't that a 22LR? That's some kind of one shot knockdown power! He barely clipped the guy on the shoulder. Sent up one heck of a spray of fake blood too. :D He's lucky the guy didn't shoot back because he sure makes an easy target these days.

.....Now as to the 'bad guy' being spun around and taken out unconscious on a stretcher after being shot in the arm with a .22 rimfire from an Armalite Survival Rifle....

I LOVED THAT EPISODE!! Not just the fact of Shatners lines, but because they showed a responsible, but crazy, gun owner use a firearm to defuse a situation. I think that is Shatners best roll ever, even better than Kirk!
But lets not turn this into a discussion of a .22 being enough firepower. Besides, if it knocked a bad guy unconscious on TV, it has to be real!? :neener:

I didn't see this show, but can tell you that William Shatner and his old Vulcan buddy, Nimoy, are two of the most anti-gun actors in Hollywood.

It was just a few lines from a role, folks. Don't become Shatner enthusiasts. What the man does in real life is more what matters. Still, he may have inadvertendtly (sp?) done us some good with these utterances. The audience saw what they saw, not what he really believes.

The part I laughed about was when the police officer was questioning Denny afterward.

Officer: "My question to you is, did it appear the suspect was about to fire at Mr. Shore when you decided to take him out?"

Denny: "No, why the hell would I wait for that?"

:)

I was laughing SO HARD at that entire episode. DENNY CRANE!

I don't know if Shatner is an anti, but I know that he paintballs... maybe the sensibility carries over?

I just thought it was great to see a network show have a pro-gun character. It was great watching him assemble the AR7, and size up the situation. As quoted, his explanations were great, too.

FJC, that line was classic.

BenW, the show is called "Boston Legal" and is on Sundays at 10PM on ABC. It is a spinoff of "The Practice".

Thanks -- sounds funny. I'm usually in the rack by that time, but I'll have to send it to the VCR so I can check it out. :)

I'm not sure if Shatner's anti-gun. As long as he keeps his mouth shut and I don't hear all kinds of hoopla about his views, and he does his job of entertaining me. We'll get along fine.

As I walked by the TV on a recent episode (maybe this one), I heard them talking about when they went "skeet shooting and hadn't hit a single skeet."

I have never heard clay bird refered to as "skeet." I always thought that was the nane of the game, not the target. I don't shoot at the "traps" either.

Henry, the character who said that isn't a shooter and is the "Democrat" that Denny Crane was refering to earlier, so it was an appropriate line.

Bill Shatner is a gunny

If Mr. Shatner is, indeed, a gunny, and a paintballer, my respect for him just about doubled. I mean, I already liked him (I love Star Trek: TOS. It's so campy and awesome... "KHAAAAAAN!") but hey, the celebrity gunny thing is e'en better.

I don't know how he feels about guns and/or gun rights, but I do know hes an avid paintballer ... he hosted a big paintball tournament called Spplat Attack (apparently it was on pay per view)

I've not met many who paintball who are also antis ... I'm sure there out there, but they aren't the majority.

And even if you don't like Shatner and Spader, there is always Rhona MItra and Lake Bell, who are two utterly delicious brunettes
