G'day

I need a bit of advice about mounting a williams aperture sight on a Winchester 94.
I have just ordered a williams sight and the gunshop guy assures me that it will just screw onto the two screw holes on the top left side of the receiver. Is this correct .I don't want to undo these two screws and find out that something has fallen off inside the action.
Does anyone know about these things.

Thankyou for your time

That's how I installed a Williams receiver sight on a Winchester 1895. The screws are just filler screws to protect the threads.

I'm no Model 94 expert, but if your 94 has holes at the right spacing, they're for receiver sights.

I would imagine that there are some older 94's out there that didn't come set up this way, and those have to be drilled and tapped.

I put a williams on my 1963 94. Two plug screws came right out and the sight screwed right in. I pulled the reat sight off and put a dovetail plug in to fill the gap. Very easy to do.

G'day

Thanks guys.
I have one more question. On the right hand side of the receiver above the loading port there are two small holes, the one closest to the port has a screw in it, but the one above doesn't, is this right or has the filler screw been lost out of this hole.

Thankyou for your time.
