Anybody use one of these? I bought the trimmer and the base from Midway yet there was no hardware by which you could attach the trimmer to the base. Any ideas on how I can get this done? thanks

You supply your own screws. It has two screw holes that line up with the screws that hold the trimmer together.

I used a Wilson for decades to trim and another Wilson to turn the outside of necks on my .308 and 300 Win. Mag cases. I found the tools to be of excellent quality and highly reliable. You will not go wrong with adding Wilson tools to your reloading room.

L.E. Wilson tools are the best! thier dies are just plain better and you know it when you use them! You will need to clamp the trimmer into a vise, or some companys make a trimmer stand. Call Russ Haydon he has everything Wilson sells and everything after market for them.

Sorry about brining up a old thread but I just received my Wilson Trimmer and sinclair stand... Now.. Being a newbie, I am not really sure how the thing works. I have an idea but just want to make sure I do things properly. The instructions are ok and tell you how to set the thing up but they dont really go into detail about how to use it.

Is there anyone out there that has a wilson trimmer that might be able to post a step by step process regarding how it is used. Along with the Trimmer and stand I also bought a .45/70 fired case holder.

Thanks guys.. I appreciate any and all help, suggestions, how-to's, photos or whatnot.

I'd also like to see some detailed instructions and any hints/tricks/tips that people are able to pass on. I just ordered one from Russ Haydon yesterday and it would be great to hit the ground running.

Stick the case in the case holder, lay it in between the rails on the trimmer, butt it up against the stop, and trim it while holding the case holder from spinning.

I noticed that Wilson sells caseholders in both "fired" and "unfired" sizes. What do people recommend? I assume that most people resize before trimming and therefore the "unfired" size would be more appropriate?

It depends upon whether you will be FL resizing or necksizing your brass. Since trimming is done after resizing, if FL resizing, get the "unfired" holder; if necksizing, get the "fired" holder.

I have purchased 500 fired .308 cases which I will full-length resize to start with but I then plan to neck size only. Can I get by with a 'fired' case holder or will I also have to buy an 'unfired' case holder?
