Anyone got good things to say on this gun? It looks real nice. How well do they take customers asking for some additional custom work that involves cutting into the gun(engraving, modification of the gripping area of the slide)?

I'd ask them but I like asking regular joes who can offer their own unique perspective the most.

PS: My last firearms purchase was a Marlin 30-30, several years ago. I think I can treat myself now. ;)

Wilson really doesn't do much custom work anymore, it is pretty much what you see is what you get, except for maybe ambi safties and such minor changes.

If I was going to buy one of the expensive off-the-shelf 1911s, I'd go with an Ed Brown myself. I think the Ed Brown guns are a bit nicer than Wilsons from what I've seen of them firsthand, and I'm not really a fan of "ArmorScuff." :D
