Can anyone comment on the installation of these sights?
I've searched the threads here, but I can't find a good discussion of the difficulty level of the install. I don't have the directions for the installation (I am considering the purchase of these sights), but from what I've read the sight is glued (or JB welded) over a milled down stock bead sight base, then cross drilled, and finally roll pinned into position.
Is this home installation durable or should the front sight be welded to the barrel for a permanent attachment?
Does the front sight stay on with hundreds of rounds of useage, plus banging around, etc.?
How tough is it to accomplish without a jig and drill press to prep the receiver?
Did anyone just have a local gunsmith do the install? Prices?
In the end, is it best to send the SG out to Wilson for the install?
Thanks for helping me with my homework.
