What would be things to look for? My friend's cousin has a Wilson CQB that he's willing to sell. My buddy knows that I like guns and told me that he was selling some stuff do buy a house. I don't know the guy all to well but I have seen the gun and it seems almost brand new with no visible wear on the gun. He had some other stuff I really wasn't interested in. But I was wishing for a high end 1911. What should I look for and do I have piece of mind if there is a problem down the line. What is their CS like? For a 98% gun, what should I offer him. I know it's a quality product but it's just so scary to spend so much money all at once. This may be the only high end gun I ever buy. He said I could make payments.

How's 2300.00, more or less?

Quality, Accuracy, and CS are all top shelf. They will take care of you.

$2300 used may be a bit high. Try $2100.

You don't have to worry about Wilson quality or CS. There are, however, half a dozen different CQB models, and at least as many options that can run the new price north of $3k, especially if local taxes are considered. If I recall correctly, the price on mine was around $2.8k, with magwell, optional sights and a couple other things.

Suggest you check out out the gunbroker listings to see what CQBs are listing and selling for. The high end used 1911s don't seem to be moving very fast.

If your candidate is a no-option basic CQB, I think $2k or a little less might be a place to start.

It has the dull grey on black coating, front serrations, speed chute, fixed combat sites(not novaks) and G10 kind of grips. What else is an option??

I believe the ambi safety would be an option, same for c'sunk slide stop hole on frame, and crowned barrel. The speed chute is definitely an option, and I think the two-tone finish is as well. A light rail would indicate a step up
(in price at least) over the basic model. The number of magazines included with the pistol, and the Wilson fabric gun case being available would also be considerations. You might check on the Wilson Combat website as all of the options are pictured. Sounds like your candidate has a few options. If the options are something you would include if you bought the pistol new, then their value should be considered.
