I bought a couple snap caps to cycle the win 94 project gun. When I cock the lever back and lift the bullet will start to chamber to where the slug enteres the barrel aboit 1/2" and stops. What I have to do is pull the lever down and pull it up again and the bullet slides right in. Sort of like down up down up and it works every time. Looking at whsts going on inside it looks like the rim of the case is getting hung up and not raising up smoothly. Is there a simple bullet guide adjustment? I noticed the left guide is loose and i dont have a offset screwdriver. Im just wondering where to adjust it. Thanks.

The loose cartridge guide is very likely the problem.

They have to be tight to work right.

Do Not start filing on, or 'adjusting' anything, until you tighten the screws and try it.

Then try it will real 30-30 ammo, not snap-caps.

To tighten the cartridge guide screws, scavenged from the Net Ethereal:

Well now...That all depends on the rifle. I have a 1949 Win 94 .30WCF Ser #1608XXX. The cartridge guide rail screws are on the inside. Not sure where you got those Photos, but I have not seen the screws on the outside. They are in the same place, but on the inside. Which makes it real fun to check them for tightness.

RC...What say you?

Yes, they are on the inside on a 1894.
The photo's MartinS posted are like a 1892, which are on the outside.

I was not aware that was ever used on the 94.

You will need some sort of short screwdriver bit to tighten them.
An angle screwdriver won't work too hot as the slots are always in the wrong place.

I use a cut-down Chapman bit and the little Chapman ratchet handle.

The pictures are not my gun but I'm looking at screw heads in the same place on my 94 serial number 51220XX.
