I'm hoping that someone here can help me out with a small problem I encountered over the weekend. My dad gave me a 12ga. that he's had for years. Dad was never one for cleaning his guns and I doubt this shotgun has been cleaned in 10 years, so I broke it down as soon as I got home.

I was following the instructions in the Winchester manual for the 1300 series that I downloaded off their site, but it doesn't say anything about what to do when the ejector comes out along with the bolt assembly. Apparently, that's a no-no. I put the ejector back into the slot cut for it in the bolt assemby, but I couldn't get it to fit onto a pin in the side of the receiver wall or into a small spring at the rear of the receiver. So, I've basically got the ejector stuck into the bolt assembly slot and tensioned against the receiver wall. Additionally, about 2mm of the ejector sticks out of the forward end of the receiver where the barrel fits. :banghead:

I messed with it for about and hour trying to get it into a more pleasing configuration, but the Mrs. finally made me take it off the table so we could have dinner. The barrel fit back into the receiver and I cycled a couple of rounds through the shotgun after I reassembled it. The shells ejected just fine without any obvious disastrous results. However, I can't say I'm full of confidence that everything is ok.

Does anyone here have any advice for me? I'd hate to pull the trigger on this thing and have parts flying.
