Winchester 1400 Loading issues

Hello Folks!
I have come across a Winchester 1400 semi auto shotgun in nice shape overall. My question is with putting rounds into the magazine. I know it is designed to only carry two rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. However, this gun will only allow one round to be loaded into the magazine, not two. Any idea what is going on here? Thanks so much!!!

You are loading 2 3/4", right? Have you looked for an obstruction in the magazine?

Yes, I am using 2 3/4 shells. I don't see any form of blockage, but with the way it is made there is no way to take the magazine apart. Any ideas???

There is nothing there that I can see other than the spring and the follower. :banghead:

Get a small flexible plastic rod and push it through the loading port and measure how far the mag follower can be pushed in.

You need 5 1/4" or more follower movement to get two 2 3/4" shells of any crimp type in the mag.

You may have dirt, or a stuck shell, or a plug in the mag, for some odd reason I can't think of??

They aren't easy to take apart, but there are some helpful vids on YouTube.
