winchester 1400

new to the gun world. I have a winchester 1400 mkii. after about 250+/- rounds the plastic button that releases the bolt broke off. I hope I can find a replacement part and I'm sure I can do the repair, I just don't know what the piece is called so that I can search for it. the only gunsmith that I know of in west palm beach is at a local range and was a complete D-bag with no tolerance for a novice when I needed a firing pin spring for a O/U. anyway if anyone knows what it is called I would appreciate the info, and where to get one would be a bonus. thanks for being here!

obsolete carrier release has been replaced by metal one. thanks for the reply!

e-gunparts.com also has a lot of stuff for the 1400. I even got a left hand safety there and like the gun MUCH better with that safety.

is the receiver of the 1400 similar to the 1400 MKII?

My older 1400 doesn't even have a carrier release button incorporated into its design. The bolt is released by pushing on the magazine follower. I wonder if that would work on a MKII?
