Happy Saturday!

I picked up four boxes of this stuff a few weeks ago.

Winchester
.38 Special +P
147 gr. J.H.P.
Q4266

I've never seen any reference to it on this board. Wondering if anybody knows anything about it. It shoots extremely accurately at 10 yards out of my .38s. If penetrates/expands, it's a keeper. Thanks!

45Badger, are you sure it isn't +p+?

Reason I ask is I have a case of the +p+ stuff, it's in winchester boxes that have black and white labeling and say "law enforcement only" on them.

If that's what you have, let me know. I have chrono data for them out of my sp101, 3" security six, and my 7.5" redhawk.

If it's really only +p, at least I tried.

Ben-

It's only +P. The +P is in a circle.

The boxes are white with black graphics/lettering.

The lettering-

.38 Special +P
147 gr. J.H.P.
Q4266

is in purple ink.

There is some sort of logo after/beside the J.H.P. It is a circle with the letter "C" inside it, and a "crown" on top of it.

Thanks for the reply, I was beginning to think I'd stumped the brain trust!

45Badger, FWIW:
Box markings are identical other than the 2nd + on mine.

I pulled several of mine apart, powder charges were all within 1/10th of a grain and all the slugs were spot on at 146gr.
They seem to open well in the little testing I've done, and the velocity was very consistant.

So if yours are anything like mine you should have very good results.

Does anyone have any test results on this load? How well it performed from a 2in snubbie (all steel and airlite versions)?
