was looking at putting a sling and swivels on my 1897. it already has the QD attachment points on the mag tube and on the butt stock, but i was wondering what the suggestions were on a period-correct sling. my gun was made in the 50s but, as yall know, they were in use far before that.

so.... leather? canvas? 1907? 1923? Opinions are welcome as well as pictures of your old shotguns with their slings.

Thanks!

neither. cut down to about 23 inches. it doesnt have to follow trench/riot correctness. just want something that looks like it belonged on it in 1955.

The leather double row hole sling that goes on 03A3 or early Garand is what they used. M1903 was the military sling designation. Fleabay ought to have one on there. M1912 trench gun used the same.

I grabbed one that is that style, now im trying to figure out my swivel dillema. the quick connects let the metal hit on the mag tube and on the wood as well. so im going to fab up some that i like better, thought they wont the be quick connects.
