I note that the winchester 37 was made in a variety of gauges and was wondering a few things.
Do they all use the same frame/reciever?
Will barrels interchange between differnt guage guns?
Will for instance the 12 guage accept a 16, 20, or .410 barrel?
Will a .410 ecept even a 28 or 20 barrel?
Are barrels drop in replace able? (like if I had a 28 inch long 12 guage and picked up a ratty spare barrel on an auction sight to shorten and rifle sight, would it likely be a drop in fit?
I have run into a few of the 37s recently at shows and pawn shops and was just wondering about flex ability.
I relize that with a 12 I can shoot anything smaller via chamber adaptors, but I am wondering if the 20 I have seen hanging around at one place ( a bit ratty and reblued) can be "upgraded" to a 12 or 16 via and auction sight barrel.
And yes I mean US made Model 37 marked guns not 37A or ferrin copies.
