If you have read my"ruger hawkeye or remington 700"post you know i'm looking at a 30-06,another I would consider would be a winchester 70 if they come in left handed versions.does anybody know if they do?Thanks.

from your first 2 links, rc:

(Note: The items listed on this page are not in current production. The MSRP listed here is the MSRP for the last year that this item was in the catalog. Images and descriptions shown do not necessarily represent the product in its entirety. They are shown for examples only.)

and that press release is from 2003. who knows how accurate that is. i'd bet you can get them custom ordered.

No, they do not and never have made Lefty M70's in SC.

You can occasionally find one NIB on Gunbroker, but FNH hasn't started up any LH-action production. I'd like one too.

Most of the deals out there are for the WSM-action Lefties out there. They made more than the market demand.

Another route to take is Montana Rifle Co. M-99; it's an improved M70 action. I like mine a lot.

The Ruger is much better than the Remington, but Winchester takes it to a higher level and is better than either. Unfortunalely they do not offer any current left handed guns. Even in the past they had very few options. Ruger, Remington and Savage are the most common bolt rifles for lefty's

Everyone will not agree with this, but if I shot lefty I'd have to buy a right handed bolt gun. While there are a few options, none are configured the way I'd want. My brother has the same problem, he shoots lefty and there is nothing made for lefty's that he is interested in. He found it easier to just learn how operate a right handed gun from the other side. As long as you stay away from guns with a high roll over cheekpiece it is really pretty easy with a little practice. He is not handicapped in the least.
