Winchester 74 Timing rocker

What is the correct setting for this screw and device.I am changing all springs.I am going to count current turns but I'm not sure it is correct.Does anyone know this setting??It is a 1948 model 74 LR version.

Well, I started to respond when you posted the question the other day.
But soon realized I didn't have a clue.
Nor did any of the gunsmith books I checked covering it.
The one book I found with the 74 in it just said reassemble in reverse order.

The screw is listed as a Timing Rocker Guide Screw on the schematic.
I can see nothing that suggests it adjusts anything.

What happens if you just put it in and tighten it?
