A friend of mine gave me some (100 rounds) of 9 mm 124 gr FMJ bullets. I don't know much about this cartridge. Is it safe to shoot in Glocks and XDm 9's ? Just trying to be a little careful. buddhas

Should be fine in Glocks and XDm. The 9mm NATO runs at higher pressure than a typical 9mm round but still well within the tolerances of the pistols. I fired 100 rds of Win NATO through my Glock 19 gen4 with no apparent ill effects. Still works fine a thousand+ rounds later.

I had a few boxes of the same stuff, left over from qualifying with a full auto. In the agency I was attached to, it was issued for full autos (Uzis).

It works spectacularly in my H&K USP Compact, but the specs for the H&K also say it will handle anything out there. I do not shoot it in my older 9mms, such as the Browning Hi-Power. It would probably be fine, but I just don't do it. No real need to anyway.

It's great stuff though, in the H&K. I'd bet it's just fine in a Glock or any 9mm that says it can handle +P.

The NATO spec 9mm ammo should be fine in any quality 9mm pistol in good condition. It WILL cause accelerated wear, though!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the euro guns like the original G17/19s and the Croatian XDs were designed around NATO spec 9mm.

At any rate I bought a ton of this stuff from ammo to go, and have used it for several classes in an S&W 3953. Works great.
