Anyone ever seen a Model 94 like this?

I have a chance to purchase it but never seen one like it. Some of it looks like engraving other like some kind of etching. It's a 1950 for 650.00 is it worth it?

Any good condition pre-64 is worth $500 as a base price. Once you get into rifles from the early 50's and 40's era, the price can go up to $550-600. So $650 is in no way out of line for a rifle with some great looking work like that. She's a beaut.

It looks like a rifle that suffered from some heavy rusting & was rescued by a skilled craftsman. Check the function and the bore.

Have a couple swords here with etched blades, it's quite obvious when you know the difference in processes & appearance. :)
Doesn't hurt the gun any, but doesn't put it into the same value level it'd rise to if that were engraving.
What you pay for it is up to you. :)
