Winchester Defender Question

I picked up a beautiful Winchester Defender last weekend, 12 gauge, 7 shot magazine, walnut stocks.

The seller thought it was from the mid 60's.

Serial number is L1904xxx and it is marked "Winchester Defender 12 Gauge 2 3/4 & 3" "

Any idea when it was made? Or where I can find out?

It is very slick and fast and beautiful!

I just called Winchester Friday and they seemed very happy to help me with that same question. I checked 2 1300's and they immediately told me the year. Kevin.

If it is a 1200 model, it was produced between 1964-1983. The 1300 was made from 1983-2006.
