does anyone have a winchester HV (heavy varmint) in .223 ? (not the short fat ones) if so what is your go to load? really i do not know what the twist is . some say 1:9 to1:10 right now I'm reload with 69gr sierra mbthp ,Varget,IMR4064,with LC brass BR primers great results out 400yds ,anybody go heavier than that? really in my opinion it a tac driving weapon with a 2 lb trigger pull…. Thanks

I have never seen a 1:9 or 1:10 and toss a 69 grain bullet right. My 1:9 will do 55s and nothing heavier. It key holes 69s.
My Remington 700s both have a 1:14 twist and toss 55s and 40s in one hole.
Use a cleaning rod and check your twist rate.

M70? The past production 223s I saw are listed as a 1-10 twist. If you're seeing good results with sierra's 69 grainers that's pretty fortunate, and it would be miraculous if it handled anything with more bearing surface than that. Have you tried Nosler's 60 & 55 grain boat tail ballistic tips? Load some up with that varget & be amazed
