I have a beautiful M59 12 ga. with the Win-Lite barrel and screw-in chokes in IC and Mod. I use this gun sparingly and mainly for quail. My problem is the chokes become loose after shooting several rounds and I must continually hand-tighten them. I'm afraid that one day I may forget to check the tightness and blow the end of the barrel off. I've tried choke tube grease with limited success and fear over-tightening with the choke wrench might damage the threads in the barrel liner. Any suggestions? I'm sure someone has run across this same problem and knows an easy fix. Oh, btw, I do use the Mod. choke if I take the old girl out for some evening dove shooting.
The same problem happens with either choke tube.

I would try using a heavier grease, possibly one that has a high wax content.

But you would still have to keep a eye on the choke tube, shooting with loose tubes, the tube can be blown out of the barrel.

I had a Rem 1100 in 28 that came with Briley OEM chokes that had a wide but shallow thread pattern. The only thing that worked was white teflon plumber's tape - just remember to clean the threads after cleaning the barrel. I suspect in my case that the barrel was threaded .001 too loose or the choke was .001 too tight (or maybe both) as I had to retighten after 3-5 shots. The tape solved the issue.
