A Winchester model 1906 came into the shop with a notation that it does not feed properly and jams. Cleaned and checked out, found extractor was GONE! Broken off just ahead of the pin that holds the extractor. Replaced and now functions rounds through until the last round which ends up being halfway out of the magazine tube and halfway into the 'carrier'. I've had this apart and back together a number of times and cannot figure what is causing this problem. It's only happening on the last round..

I have a 62a which I think is the same basically. At some point I remember slowly streching the mag spring out another 6 or 8 inches to give it a bit more life. Not sure why, but it may have been from something similar.

I am working on an 06 that is doing the same thing. I have come to the conclusion that the replacement inner mag tube has a follower that is too short and not pushing hard enough on the last round.

I believe you're right..I took another look and the plunger at the end of the tube stops about +/- 3/16ths of an inch short.. I am going to try to extend the plunger by gluing a small puck on it to see if that pushes the cartridge out a little more so the carrier will clear..Won't get back to it till tomorrow, but I'll let you know how it turns out. Wish me luck! LOL!

My SKS had this, turns out the follower was slightly bent wrong. Maybe the follower is the issue here too?
