I had one for a few years, it is actually a very nice rifle (as in...ya wanna sell it?):D

Collector value does not seem to be too high, as the few I see are usually going in the 250ish range for a very clean example. I sold mine for about that two years ago, and it was extremely clean, sigh.

Loading could not be simpler. The top of the receiver has a piece that is shaped somewhat like a children's slide. You merely push down on that piece, and the chamber is exposed, rather like a Martini action.

Once you have fired, the shell is ejected out the bottom, and he rifle is ready to reload. If I recall correctly, it sets an automatic safety as well. Couldn't be simpler, or safer.

Now that I have a young lad about the house, I really wish (hint-hint) I hadn't sold mine. I believe H&R and Savage both made similar rifles as well.

Hope that helps....

It was marketed as a "Single Shot Automatic" Not a whole lot of them made. I think they were produced from 58 to 63. They weren't very accurate either, pinned barrel and that big ol bolt sliding home.
