I'm planning to buy a Winchester model 61 in 22 magnum, My question however is how many rounds of 22 magnum can it hold?

Whew, the Model 61 in .22 Magnum was one of my 'grail' guns for several decades...but I finally gave up on the notion when Magnum ammunition prices went out of sight.
I do have the .22 LR version, and have shot it quite a bit with the issue irons sights as well as a 2.5x Leupold 'Alaskan' 7/8" dia. scope. With that excellent glass mounted, that old 1957 rifle with keep standard velocity CCI's or Wolf Match Target in neat nickel sized 5-shot clusters from the 50 yd line. It's a joy to shoot and generally a toss up with my old Winchester Model 62 with a tang peep as to which one gets to visit the range with family or friends.
